I'm Rahul. I've been obsessively traveling to Goa since 2011.

This site is everything I'd tell a friend before their first (or fifth) Goa trip.

My Story

My first Goa trip was an accident. A college friend had a spare seat in his car in 2011, and I tagged along with zero expectations and a budget of about three thousand rupees. We stayed in a dingy room behind a bar in Calangute, ate fish curry rice at the cheapest shack we could find, and spent three days doing absolutely nothing on the beach.

I was hooked. Not in the "Goa is a party destination" way that gets plastered across travel blogs. I was hooked on the feeling of a place that somehow manages to be simultaneously relaxing and exciting, traditional and progressive, Indian and Portuguese. There's nowhere else like it.

Over the next fourteen years, I kept going back. Sometimes for a weekend, sometimes for a month. I stayed in everything from ₹400 dorm beds to ₹50,000-a-night suites. I ate at beach shacks, fine-dining restaurants, and someone's grandmother's house in Aldona (long story, incredible pork vindaloo). I rode scooters through monsoon downpours, watched sunsets from forts I had entirely to myself, and somehow convinced my now-wife that "one more Goa trip" was always a good idea.

This site started because I was tired of answering the same questions over WhatsApp. Every time someone I knew was planning a Goa trip, I'd end up typing out the same recommendations, the same warnings, the same "trust me, skip Calangute Beach" advice. So I put it all in one place. No SEO filler, no paid placements, no "Top 50 Things To Do" lists copied from other sites. Just what I'd actually tell you over a beer.

What Readers Say

Used Rahul's 5-day itinerary and it was spot on. The South Goa recommendations alone made the trip.

We almost booked a resort in Baga. This guide saved us — Candolim was exactly what we needed.

Did the budget version, spent under 14k for 5 days. Every restaurant recommendation was a hit.

What I've Done

These aren't vanity metrics. They're context for why I'm confident in what I recommend.

14+ years of trips

My first trip was in 2011. I've been back every year since — some years three or four times. I've seen Goa change, and I know which changes matter for your trip.

150+ restaurants

Across every region, every price point. From ₹100 thali joints in Mapusa to tasting menus at boutique hotels. If I recommend a place, I've eaten there.

40+ beaches

Yes, including the ones nobody talks about. I've walked, swum, or at least set foot on every accessible beach from Querim in the far north to Polem near the Karnataka border.

Every type of stay

Hostel dorms, beach huts, heritage homes, 5-star resorts, Airbnb villas. I've done them all so I can tell you exactly what's worth your money.

How I Research

Every recommendation comes from personal visits. I don't accept paid placements, sponsored stays, or "complimentary experiences" in exchange for coverage. If a resort is on my list, it's because I paid for it (or a friend did and gave me their honest take).

I update regularly. Goa changes fast — restaurants close, new beaches get popular, prices shift. I revisit and update my guides after every trip, not on some arbitrary annual schedule.

I include prices and specifics. You won't find vague "budget-friendly options available" here. I give you names, price ranges, and what to order. If something is overrated, I say so.

I listen to reader feedback. When someone emails me saying a restaurant I recommended has gone downhill, I check it out on my next trip and update accordingly. This site is a living document.
