Goa in Summer & Monsoon
Most people skip these months. Here's why that might be a mistake.
I've visited Goa during the monsoon multiple times since 2011. Is it for everyone? No. Can you swim at the beach? Not really. But there's a version of Goa during the rains that most tourists never see — and honestly, it's my favorite.
☀️ Summer (Mar-May)
- • Hot: 30-35°C — bring light clothes and sunscreen
- • Beaches are yours — almost nobody here
- • Prices drop 30-40% from peak
- • Some beach shacks close, but enough stay open
🌧️ Monsoon (Jun-Sep)
- • Heavy rains — dramatic and beautiful
- • Everything turns impossibly green
- • Waterfalls at their most spectacular
- • Beach swimming is genuinely dangerous — skip it
Why I Actually Love Off-Season
- 💰 Up to 50% off on accommodation — seriously, five-star resorts at three-star prices
- 🌿 Goa turns emerald green — the landscape is stunning, completely different from the brown/golden peak season
- 💧 Dudhsagar Falls at full power — this alone is worth the trip
- 🦀 Monsoon cuisine specials — mushroom fry, crab xacuti, and fresh catch that's even better in the rain
- 👥 You see the real Goa — the one locals experience, without the tourist filter
